Ven Pongal



Ingredients:

3/4 cup rice grains
1/4 cup moong dhal
3/4 tsp salt
1 tsp ghee
1 tsp cumin seeds
1.5 tsp peppercorns
1 green chilli - slit cut vertically
Curry leaves
Cashews

Method:

1) In a pan, pressure cook the rice grains, moong dhal and salt until they become soft.
2) In a second pan, add some ghee and crack cumin seeds
3) Add peppercorns, and green chilli,  curry leaves and cashew nuts and sauté well
4) Transfer the sauted mixture to the pressure cooked rice - dhal mixture.
