Pettai

Ingredients:

1 onion
2 - 3 tsp ginger garlic paste
Dried chilli paste
Pettai

Method:

1) Break the pettai into halves and make sure that it is not spoilt.

2) In a pan , add and heat the oil. Add onion and saute well.

3) Add ginger garlic paste and let it cook for 2 min

4) Add chilli paste and cook well until the chilli is seperated from the oil

5) Add pettai and cook for 5 min.

Note : Pettai is a green, oval shape seed. It is readily available in wet markets in packets (unless you are in Malaysia, you have to deseed the pods by yourself). Pettai is smelly in nature and its smell can be eradicated by sauting with chilli paste and its taste can be enhanced. Pettai is good in treating urinary infection. However, the urine appears to be smelly upon micturition.
