Amma's ghee sambar

Ingredients

1 -2 cups toor dhal
4-5 galic teeth
1 tsp sambar powder
Ghee
Potato pieces
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp asafoeida
1 tsp fennel seeds
1/2 tsp vendhayam
3 dried chillis small pieces
1 onion
Curry leaves
2 tsp Baba fish masala
2 tsp Ginger garlic paste
Brinjal pieces
2 tomato pieces
Salt

Method:

1) In a pot, add some water, toor dhal, garlic teeth, sambar powder and some oil and cook the dhal
    well.
2) Once the dhal is cooked, add the potatoes and continue cooking.
3) In a pan, add some ghee. Add onion, curry leaves. Then add mustard seeds, asafoeida, fennel
    seeds, vendhayam, dried chilli and saute them well.
4) Add the (Baba fish masala, ginger garlic, water) paste to the mixture in 3)
5) Add brinjal and tomatoes and saute them well.
6) Add abit of water and saute well.
7) Transfer the mixture 6) into the dhal mixture. Add salt and let the whole sambar be cooked for
     10 minutes
