We decided to go green today. So we cooked greens a lot! Alternatively, Savuchamurangakeerai, murangkakaai keerai and avutha keerai
Ingredients:
1 cup toor dhal
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
3 pieces dry chilli
1/2 onion
1 tsp ginger garlic
1 tsp cumin seeds - [ cumin seeds soaked in water for 1 min , sieved the mixture and pound it]
1/2 coconut milk - 1st rinse
1/2 coconut milk - 2nd rinse

Method:
1) In a pot, add toor dhal, some oil, 1/4 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and cook well.
2) In a pan, add oil. Add dry chilli and sauté well.
3) Add onion, ginger garlic paste and cumin seeds. You will smell the aroma of the cumin seeds.
4) Add keerai and cook well for 5 minutes. Turn off the stove.
5) Add the keerai mixture to the dhal mixture.
6) Add 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 cup coconut milk (second rinse grated coconut). Let it cook for 5 minutes
until it starts to boil.
7) Add another 1/2 cup coconut milk ( first rinse grated coconut) and stir well. Once the sides of the
saaru starts to boil, turn off the stove.
